(Primary Storage Details) Usage Data

Location: Primary Storage Detail page.
Access path: Storage tab on the menu bar, drill-down to individual primary storage.

This graph presents the current total volume utilization. The utilization is composed of the base data plus the backup snapshots. As the number of snapshots increases, the amount of volume utilization will increase. Thus over time the utilization will slowly increase, depending on the size of the base data and the frequency of the backups.

Available operations:

  • Zoom in on a time period by double clicking and dragging the mouse pointer horizontally across part of the graph. You can reset the zoom by clicking the Reset zoom control in the upper right corner of the graph.

Update File Archived Storage Dialog Box

Location: on the File Archived Storage Details page.
Access path: Storage tab on the menu bar, drill-down to individual file archived storage to open the Overview tab, click the pencil icon.

These settings control the backup process and retention of the backup copies.





Available operations:

  • Open each tab by clicking on it.
  • Change the value of one or more settings and save it by clicking the Save button.
  • If you do not want to save changes, close the dialog box by clicking the Cancel button or the X in the upper right corner.

Location: on the File Archived Storage Details page.
Access path: Storage tab on the menu bar, drill-down to individual file archived storage, click the Transactions tab.

Each backup has a corresponding transaction. All backups for the storage are listed in reverse chronological order.

Available operations:

  • Reorder the list by the values in a column by clicking the icon to the left of the column name.
  • Browse the collection with the navigation controls at the bottom of the pane.
  • View a list of skipped items by clicking the ► icon. This opens an area directly below the backup row listing the individual files that were skipped. You can hover the mouse pointer over a row to open a tooltip indicating the skip reason. Click the ▼ icon to close the area.

File Archived Storage Details Overview Tab

Location: on the File Archived Storage Details page.
Access path: Storage tab on the menu bar, drill-down to individual file archived storage.

Available operations:

  • Click Backup Now. It has an immediate effect. After the backup process begins, a Stop Backup button appears.
  • Click Restore. This opens the “Restore” dialog box, below. Use this to specify where the data is to be restored to. Use this action to restore all data at once.
  • Click Delete Storage. The storage is deleted immediately after a confirmation dialog box.
  • Edit the settings by clicking the pencil icon . This opens the “Update File Archived Storage” dialog box.

Available operations:

  • Enter and save settings by clicking Restore. The action is immediate.
  • Close the dialog box without setting or changing any values by clicking the Cancel button.
